“The Bead Diet”

Protocol for Illness
(to avoid build up of mucus) 

  1. Until you are feeling better, every day is a fruit / vegetable / salad day:
  •    2 fruits

  •    Up to 1 ½ lbs. of vegetables and salad

  •    Add up to 5 – 7 oz of fish or chicken each day

§  Note: it is ok to use chicken broth during this time (no noodles!) 

  1. You should drink lots of fluids to keep properly hydrated.  Unless instructed by your physician, continue to avoid juice.
     
  1. When you are feeling better, your first two days back on the program should be VEGGIE days.  This will allow your body some additional time to heal without dairy potentially increasing the mucous in your system
     
  1. Then return to the normal cycle of 2 days milk and yogurt, 2 days fruits and vegetables, etc.

If you do not want to take a break from the program, please speak to your consultant about trying one of the non-dairy alternative milk protocols.

Please note, when ill or on antibiotics the body will have a tendency to retain water.  This is temporary and will pass.  The protocol for illness will temporarily slow the weight loss, but if you follow the guidelines you will not gain.
