Eliana's Anytime Decaf Coffee Granita |  Any Day, Any Time
    
	makes 2 servings - each serving uses none of your daily allowance
	  
	
    
    Ingredients
	     
    - 2 cups fresh STRONG brewed decaf coffee
 
    - zero-calorie sweetener, to taste
    
    	- you may add flavor by sweetening with zero-calorie sugar-free syrups such as DaVinci Gourmet hazelnut, French vanilla, caramel, etc.
 
    
 
    - 2-3 sugar-free peppermint starlight or other sugar-free candy
    
    	- make sure each piece of candy has 10 calories or less
 
    
 
  
    Directions
     
  - pour hot coffee into a 9x13 inch cake pan
    
      - note, coffee should not be higher than an inch up the side of the pan
 
    
 
    - add sweetener or sugar-free syrup, to taste
 
    - chill in the fridge for 20-30 minutes
 
    - move to the freezer for one hour
 
    - gently rake a fork across the surface of the frozen coffee, breaking up any ice crystals in the middle and around the edges
 
    - freeze another 45 minutes
 
    - again, gently rake a fork across the surface of the frozen coffee, breaking up any ice crystals in the middle and around the edges
 
    - repeat freezing and raking process until all of the coffee is frozen into flaky crystals
 
    - fluff with a fork
 
    - allow flakes to "dry" in the freezer for another 30 minutes before serving
    
    	- note, it should look like a fluffy pile of dry brown crystals
 
    
 
    - when ready to serve, spoon granita into decorative dessert bowls
 
  - crush the peppermint (or other) candy and sprinkle on top
