Dr. Schwartz:  For those of you who have actually heard me say it in person, I repeat.  The more pure water you drink the better your weight loss and the health benefits.

For those of you who have the time, read the following:

Water is better than any other fluid; the reason is osomolarity.  If you remember your high school experiment, water flowed from the pure water side to balance or dilute the salt water on the other side of the porous cloth (osmotic pressure).

The same is true in your body.  As fluids other than water flow through your intestine, your body draws water from your blood stream to dilute those fluids.  In this manner some dehydration occurs.  The more pure water you drink, the better your overall system will function.  Even blood pressure and circulation will improve.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day (72 ounces)? :

Did you know that 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated?  (Likely applies to half the world population.)

In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism by as much as 3%.

One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost  100% of the dieters in a University of Washington study.

Preliminary research indicates that 8 to 10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and it lowers the risk of bladder cancer by 50%.
