Dr. Schwartz:   An article in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition cites a discovery by researchers at Harvard Medical School.

It appears that if you have a serving of iceberg lettuce every day, you reduce the risk of a hip fracture markedly.

It was found that 20% of the women nurses (12,700) who ingested less than 109 micrograms of Vitamin K a day had a 43% higher risk of hip fracture.

Guess what?  Correct, iceberg lettuce is full of Vitamin K, so you might think of being good to yourself on veggie days.
